Bible Question:
Is their scriptural support for the concept that the Father draws EVERYONE to Christ, or just some of us? I am leaning toward the idea, through intense study, that the Father does not draw all of us to Him. If He did draw us to Him, how could we as puny humans resist the will of the Almighty God who created all things? Also, since some are obviously NOT saved, if Christ died for all, then regarding those who are NOT saved His Holy and perfect sacrifice would have at least in part, relative to those lost, be a failure. I cannot believe that Christ's sacrifice was anything other than a perfect success, and hence He will lose none that the Father has given Him..consequently, I am wondering if He did die for all, or for "all the Father gave Him. Does anyone have any thoughts to share that might help me to understand this better? |
Bible Answer: God draws all types of men to Himself, Jew, Gentile,Greek, etc. but I believe the bible says He only draws those whom He has given to the Son.See John 6. Romans 8 clearly states that all whom God justifies He sanctifies and glorifies. This is known as the golden chain of redemption. What God wills in salvation comes to pass. Now, we know that not all people are saved and so those who are are called by God will be saved.May seem unfair to us, but He does not owe any of us salvation since we are naturaly His enemies(Romnas 8). In Matt. 20:28 it says that Christ came to give His life as ransom for many(not all). This is repeated in Mark 10:45. More could be said, but you are on the right track. B |
