Subject: Is Hell fire literal that burns forever? |
Bible Note: Our understanding of language now and then can get confused. I do not have a full comprehension of all of its compexities. I think you need to begin a conversation about hell with the things we do know. 1. We are transformed into a different being when we die. We are no longer flesh and blood, but have a new form. Will fire burn our new bodies or will there even be physical pain? I really don't know for sure. I just have my opinions on that one. 2. There will be extreme suffering in hell. This will be a place of weeping and gnashing of teeth. It is the place you realize you are separated from your Creator for eternity. You will have the eternal feeling of being wrong (One of the worst feelings humans have), and either will be weeping, or take the prideful gnashing of teeth route and be angry and revengeful. A complete emptiness of life throughout eternity. 3. We choose to go there. God will not force us in to heaven. If we choose to not have a relationship with God, he will let us feel the consequences of that decision. This is the perfect love of God. He allows us to make volitional choices and will not interfere even if it is for our own good. 4. We must do all we can to allow others to choose God and not hell. This is an interesting balance of our choices and life working in with God's will for eternity and who is there. We are called to go and share, yet does that mean that we are responsible for people going to heaven? Not at all, God works His perfect will through others. This is something our feable, finite mind cannot fathom. My two cents worth... Josh |
