Subject: One save always saved? |
Bible Note: Hi Jane, I am not sure about your Acts translation. Is that Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them," repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the Holy Spirit. If so , Peter was not speaking to believers but non believers to repent. (as I said earlier, I absolutely do believe Christians must repent when they sin) 2 Peter 3..I see this in context speaking of to believers on how to respond when mockers come and say 'we have heard this warning that the Lord is coming and it has not happened.' These are not believers mocking, these are nonbelievers mocking the the message of the gospel..ie repent for the Lord is coming back. This is not speaking of losing salvation but speaking of those who reject Jesus because they can't SEE physical evidence. I do not believe these scriptures do not address the subject of eternal security, but am open to discuss each one individually. God bless, |
