AMPLIFIED 2015 | John 5:24 ¶ "I assure you and most solemnly say to you, the person who hears My word [the one who heeds My message], and believes and trusts in Him who sent Me, has (possesses now) eternal life [that is, eternal life actually begins--the believer is transformed], and does not come into judgment and condemnation, but has passed [over] from death into life. |
Subject: What did Jesus mean in John 5:24? |
Bible Note: Thank you brother Jay: I believe that we should remember that time, not necessarily the date, but a time when we were made new creatures in Christ. It stands to reason that if we are lost that there was a time when Jesus found us. I agree that the word "heareth" means to hear with understanding and the word "believe" is to totally rely upon or rest upon the finished work of Christ. What I like about this verse is the positive statement "shall not come into judgment, but is passed from death unto life" Praise his name Robert |
