Bible Note: Hello Flyman: And once again welcome to the forum! All I can say flyman is; "God bless your heart!" Keep studying His word, don't worry about the questions, questions are mostly good, but the enemy will try to use them to deceive you to think you are not saved. Just keep trusting God and stand on His word! And you are absolutely right; You wrote: "Isn't there a bible verse where God says to study to show thyself approved and to be able to answer others as to what and why we believe?" Paul writes in 2 Tim 2:7-16 "Consider what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything. Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descendant of David, according to my gospel, for which I suffer hardship even to imprisonment as a criminal; but the word of God is not imprisoned. For this reason I endure all things for the sake of those who are chosen, so that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus and with it eternal glory. It is a trustworthy statement: For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him; If we endure, we will also reign with Him; If we deny Him, He also will deny us; If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself. Remind them of these things, and solemnly charge them in the presence of God not to wrangle about words, which is useless and leads to the ruin of the hearers. Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. But avoid worldly and empty chatter, for it will lead to further ungodliness," I hope you stay around and study God's awesome word with us! Here are some other websites that may also help you in your understanding. http://www.ewordtoday.com/comments/ http://www.gotquestions.org/index.html http://www.monergism.com/ http://www.blueletterbible.org/study/ Thats just a few, there are many others that folks are happy to share with you; Just ask! Remember though that Scripture doesn't give us all the answers to all our questions. Sometimes, it's just not for us to know some of the answers, or He would have told us. God bless John |
