Bible Note: Hi Ray: 1. I believe God indwells, from a variety of scripture, bu I will use John 14:17 ...because He abides with you and will be in you. I agree there are times when He 'comes upon' for a specific task, but I do not recognize 'coming upon' as external. 4. At times Jesus refered to Himself as the Father, (here in John...Philip said "show us the father" and Jesus said Have I been with you so long time, and yet you have not known me? He said I am in the Father and the Father is in Me. Verses 8-10 Note verse 23 Jesus answered and said to him (Judas) If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and WE will come to him and make OUR abode with him. I also agree with your pronouns in vs 11 and 17. Holy Spirit power? That will take some time. But as I do not see the trinity as 3 in on with singleness of purpose, I can't see that it matters a lot. When the Holy Spirit manifest His will in the natural, one can't truly seperate His manifestations from God or Jesus, even if He is the power. When Jesus said, "all power (authority( has been given to me, both in heaven and in earth" did He usurp the authority of the Father? No, because it was God the Father's authority to give. I do believe the Holy Spirit is God in man to carry on the work of Jesus under His authority which is under the authority of the Father. John 14:11-12. Because He went to the Father, the Father sent the Comforter to empower us to do the works of Jesus and greater works. Sadly I believe we do not receive the fullness of this truth because we are AFRAID due to religion teaches us that to believe we can do the works of Jesus is blasphemy, elevating ourselves to the position of God. Fear has crippled the body of Christ from fulfilling it's job! And this is not Godly fear because Godly fear would fear NOT doing the works of Jesus after having been sent to do so. The difference? I am not God but God dwells in me to do His will if I will listen and obey! Again I reference Mark 16 Is it not fascinating how the trinity has been expressed as one and all in this one chapter? I agree with your extra pronouns. I have to go. God bless |
