Bible Note: The Holy Spirit is the third person of the trinity. He is the power of God. In Genesis 1:2 He moved across the face of the waters. God spoke the Word (John 1:1:1) and the Holy Spirit did the work. God the Father, God the son (Word) God the Holy Spirit. The baptism of the Holy Spirit was the step from being a carnal minded Christian, a believer who saw God working from the external and did not know Him in His supernatural work. I went from being 'God with me enlightened' to 'God in me enlightened'. It is the difference in seeing Corinthians and Acts and Mark 16:15-20 as current relative reality instead of history. When I compare John 14:25 with John 14:17 I see this... Jesus was Holy Spirit filled and led by the Holy Spirit. Matthew 3:16 Matthew 4:1 Matthew 12:27-29 Vs 25 says "These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you. But in verse 17 He speaks of the Holy Spirit not as himself, He differentiates between the two. He says the when He leaves, the Holy Spirit will come. When He says you know Him because He abides with you, He is speaking of the presence of the Holy Spirit within Him. Summary.. Jesus was filled with, led by and empowered by the Holy Spirit of God. His works and words revealed the nature of the Holy Spirit to the disciples and all who desired to see. He is telling the disciples that they will know Him because He has already been with them. They will recognize Him. God bless |
