Subject: Caiaphas's prophecy misinterpreted? |
Bible Note: Greetings Michael Draves, Thank you for the answer! However, how would Caiaphas come to the conclusion that killing Jesus would work to appease the Romans? I believe that he misinterpreted the prophecy, not having any idea of the scope of what it really meant, and then used it as an excuse to kill Jesus out of his own envy of Him. I do not believe that Proverbs 21:1 could in any way be applied to Caiaphas, since he was not the king and he did not make the decisions that would show the Lord working through him. Instead, he takes the revelation given to him by God and then kills God's Son!! So, no, Caiaphas cannot be thought of in any way as a "king." Blessings to you, Makarios |
