Subject: What about Spiritual Parenting? |
Bible Note: CDBJ - Considering what the word of God says about itself and its awesome power, three of which passages you have reproduced in your post, it's hard to understand these people who always seem to be grasping for "something more, something more." What do they want God to send them, a lightning bolt to fry their gizzard? They remind me of the Jews in Jesus' time on earth who wanted "something more" -- a sign from Him to prove His authority [See John 2:18 and 6:30]. In Matthew 12:39 Jesus called the Pharisees "an evil and adulterous generation" because they craved for a sign. Is Scripture inadequate? Does one need that elusive "something more" in order to have faith? Jesus said this: "For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote about Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?" [John 5:46,47]. ...... It is a disgrace the way some church folk carry on these days, wanting signs, naming and claiming this and that, relying on feelings and personal "spiritual experiences" instead of the word of God. It's almost as though they have opted to throw the Bible in the corner and engage in a perpetual experiential hootenanny of feel-good religion. --Hank |
