Bible Question:
In Genesis 1:26, the Lord talks of creating man in our image. He refered to himself in the plural sense. Could someone explain this to me? |
Bible Answer: I believe you can liken the statement to us saying, the body of christ is one and we are it. We are separate yet united in our faith and by the one spirit that connects us we become singular with many parts. The same God residing in all makes us the same or one. In essence, we are human and our similarities sets us apart from animals into a separate class. Jesus, did nothing of himself but only what he had seen his Father do, that is what Jesus did himself. Thus, when Jesus created the world and everything living, he followed the same pattern as Father God. A physical world contained within the spiritual world of His Father that would grow into realization of spiritual things. |
