Bible Question:
In Genesis 1:26, the Lord talks of creating man in our image. He refered to himself in the plural sense. Could someone explain this to me? |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Gen 1:1ff, 1:2; Job 1:1ff; John 1:3; Act 17:24-25; Rom 8:29 ... nimrod, Greetings The Father (Act 17:24-25), Son (Jhn 1:3) and Spirit (Gen 1:2) were all took part in the creation. The word "God" in the creation account is from elohim, which is not just plural, but means more than two. The plural form, elah, meaning two, is seen mainly in Job. This thought came to me as I was typing this. We wants us to be confromed to the image of His Son (Rom 8:29). I hope I answered your question, Searcher |
