Bible Question: Perhaps I'm simpleminded, but I don't understand the fuss over the movie: anti-semitism and all. If Jesus came to die for our sins, why should we blame the Jews for killing Him? In the same logic, we shouldn't even blame Judas for betraying him. Or am I missing something? |
Bible Answer: Throughout the ages wicked men, have mis-used the crucifixtion, turning it into polital tool to perscute the Jews. Many Jews worry that such a graphic depiction of Christ's torture and death will only add fuel to the fire. The fact that Gibson's family holds some strange ideas concerning the holocaust is another concern of those who are already worried. They have a legitimate reason for voicing their concerns, as do some Bible believing christians who object to having words put into the mouth of our Lord which we have no evidence from Scripture that He ever uttered.
