Bible Question: In 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 it says that when God decends from Heaven the dead who have known Christ will rise first , and then those living who know Christ will follow. I've always been told that as soon as we die, our spirits go straight to Heaven. I'm confused. Please help! |
Bible Answer: 2corinth.5:8, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. at death, our spirit goes directly to heaven. 1thessal.4:14, He will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep. 1thessal.4:14-17 at the time of the rapture, Jesus brings those "departed spirit" persons with Him and they rejoin with their bodies that Jesus makes glorified. and those still alive get glorified bodies as well. then in glorified form all rise up to heaven to be with the Lord. |
