Bible Note: Your comment "He sees us as righteous ONLY when we live for Him" is not scriptural. He sees us as righteous ONLY as we stand in Christ by faith. 2 Cor. 5:21 "for He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." Our standing before God is always based on what Jesus has done for us and in us, not what we have done or are doing for Him. That would be salvation by works, and nowhere does the Bible teach this.
