Bible Question: Why do you think that the Shepherds were choosen to be told of Jesus' birth by the angels? |
Bible Answer: Hi! I just heard a short presentation on this yesterday. Apparantly the shepherds were considered very low class people. Being a shepherd was a low calling for a Jew. Maybe like being a beggar or something today. I guess it was to show that recurring theme that the last would be first, and the first last. The Shepherds came to Jesus with nothing, just themselves straight from the field. It shows we don't have to get all dressed up to come to Jesus, but just as we are. I am relaying this from a short sermon I heard yesterday, I hope it came handy! Dan |
