Subject: Questions on Luke 17: 5-10 |
Bible Note: Thank you for your response. I see what you are saying, it supports a bit of what I am thinking - yes, without faith we can not please God . . . God gives us the abilility to know and respond to Him; He tells us to put our faith in Jesus - when we do, this simple response of obedient faith CAN grow, but how many believers remain as "babies?" Surely, as you have observed, we do not use "what He has already given" us in so many areas of our lives! I think that possibly, we confuse "service" with faith. (This is not to say that mature believers are not serving properly however!) Unless Christ is serving through us, our "works" are worthless. (1 Cor 3:11-15) What does faith based service look like? - To me, it is anything that one can not do apart from Jesus. (John 15:5) When we encounter a task that "seems" too difficult, or will require us to venture into unknown territory, or perhaps leave our "comfort zone", I think that one can be pretty confident that God is giving the assignment, for God will not lead us where He is not - He will equip us for HIS work. Yes, our faith indeed has "unfailing potiential that we can not see with our natural eye" !! May our response to the Lord's presence in our lives prompt us to yield hearts, our hands, our feet, our minds (and our money!) to Him, to use according to HIS good purpose! Blessings on your day! mommapbs PS: These are my initial thoughts; I'm still processing this passage. |
