Bible Note: Greetings Sboone! Good morning again my friend! As to your first point, no one believes that Abraham's Bossom is Heaven. It was a temporary holding place, part of Sheol/Hades. As to your second point, they don't really present problems. Scripture doesn't explain every detail of life after death, but it certainly could be that the spirit body could have fingers, tongues, ect.... We simply don't know. As for your final point, I certainly don't agree with praying to the dead. :-) However, there is one very interesting OT story that disproves soul sleep. It is the account of Samuel's ghost speaking to King Saul. I debated this account with a supporter of soul sleep some time back, and his approach was to say that it wasn't really Samuel, rather it was a demonic spirit. However, the text of Scripture specifically identifies the spirit as Samuel. Well, I have to get to bed now (I work nights). Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
