Bible Question:
Hi,I am new here. Its nice meeting you. Just want to know if the Bible says anything about being a christian when your parents doesn't really want you to be because they have seen so many hypocrisy and selfish behaviour in church??? thank you for your reply! |
Bible Answer: I, too, would like to offer a word or two of support and encouragement. I think you're doing the right thing in following God and His Word. Sure, all of us that have been associated with God's family and have lived on the earth for a while could cite many, many examples of such hypocrisy and other sinful behavior. In some few cases, it may stem from naive lack of knowledge but most often it's a situation of someone who has deceived him/herself into their own undoing. But how can this kind of logic make any sense when we're talking about where you and I and everyone will spend our eternity? The person drowning in the ocean doesn't ask about the integrity of everyone of the rescue boat; he just climbs aboard and hangs on for dear life. And here's a bonus: Just maybe, you'll discover a bunch of christians who really do believe God's Word AND obeys it and maybe even lead your parents by your example to their salvation. Going home to Heaven with God is so much better when you die knowing your family is going with you. I pray God helps you in this endeavor. |
