AMPLIFIED 2015 | Mark 8:27 ¶ Then Jesus and His disciples went out to the villages of Caesarea Philippi; and on the way He asked His disciples, "Who do people say that I am?" [Matt 16:13-16; Luke 9:18-20] |
Bible Question: Ok. But the demons were shouting we know who you are - "You are the Son of God!". Maybe not in the nicest/most respectful way but they were claiming who Jesus was. Jesus wanted people to know who He was ... why rebuke/quiet them? |
Bible Answer: I think it was because Jesus was like a Elvis that crowds would absolutly stampede to and crush, and He being all knowing knew He had to fullfill the scripture and knew in certain places and at certain times in conjunction with the miricles, if it was broadcast by mouth that He was the Son of God in a large populated village he was headed to that they would pull him apart and his ministry and destiny could have been circonvented. It was not imperrative that He was believed to be the SON OF GOD untill after the Sacrafice and Resurection. GOD BLESS |
