AMPLIFIED 2015 | Mark 8:27 ¶ Then Jesus and His disciples went out to the villages of Caesarea Philippi; and on the way He asked His disciples, "Who do people say that I am?" [Matt 16:13-16; Luke 9:18-20] |
Bible Question: Ok. But the demons were shouting we know who you are - "You are the Son of God!". Maybe not in the nicest/most respectful way but they were claiming who Jesus was. Jesus wanted people to know who He was ... why rebuke/quiet them? |
Bible Answer: Look at it this way, would you accept the testimony of demons of who someone is? Of course not. Demons destroy and mislead. While their testimony in this case is true, the listeners would be wary. Steve |
