Bible Note: Greetings Ebrain! In this example of a 'contradiction', you again are forcing 20th century standards on a 1st century author. The 'quotation' in Matthew is actually a combination of Jeremiah and Zechariah. In our day, we would insist upon naming both sources, but in the first century, naming the 'major' prophet alone would have been sufficient. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
