Bible Note: Hello Miller, Another way to look at the selling of possessions in Acts: these people had travelled many miles for the holy days in Jerusalem. They have now been introduced to The Way and their hearts/spirits telling them that this is it, what they've been waiting and praying for. They return to their homes so many miles away, they'll be on their own, no teachers, no fellowship available. So, sell what they no longer call important, stay where the Word is which is important.
