Bible Question: How can we live the way the early disciples did today? |
Bible Answer: I would have to say that the book of Acts is our best example of how they lived. There is no mandate that we MUST sell our posessions and combine then so that everyone is equal, however I have read articles, and I'll try to find one and post it back for you, about places where they are doing that. Not here in the U.S. but its alaways wonderful to hear the stories of missionaries who travel outside our nation and how they see the Gospel being demonstrated. But we should look to the so called 'early' church, and see how they acted. From the first chapters where Christ told those born again men and women that they could not even be his witness without recieving the baptism in the Holy Ghost, to Paul knowing he will lay down his life for the Gospel. The book is something which we should continue today, we should be doing the same things as they did, partciularily when it comes to those mandates that Jesus Christ himself gave, such as heal the sick and cast out devils. So I assume the best answer to the question is to Seek God first, and his his way of being right, and when you put his Word as first place in your life, living by the commandment of Love, you can begin to expereicne the same kind of life that the early church had. |
