Bible Question (short): Demon posession or Personality disorder? |
Question (full): In various scriptures, Jesus comes in contact with people who are possesed or have demons. The signs are different, but in a few cases, they display signs of what psychology today would label with personality disorders or mental disorders. Such as the man in the tombs in Matt 5:1-20. My questions are did Jesus ever send anyone to get herbs or anything to help their dispositions, or did he simply see they were deomonically oppressed and cast out the demons? Is there scriptures that back up anything about psychology such as going to counselors or taking drugs? I don't want to offend anyone that feels they need drugs to survive whatever medical or mental situation they are in, but I believe more people could be healed if they were delivered from the demons that are opressing or possesing them. I just want to know what the bible says about it all. |
