Bible Note: Doc And others I've offended, In my zeal to answer a post authored by flossiejane, I do need to ask for your forgiveness for making a couple of incorrect statements that I couldn't back up with scripture. To answer Doc's inquiries to what I can readily provide, here goes it: The statement of "free from the law" should truely be "free from the curse of the law"(Gal 3:13). The Law itself was not imperfect, but was made imperfect because man is of a sinful nature (Rom 7:4-14., Rom 8:3). The "pattern" that I stated in my original answer was made in reference to the way God's people should live:(Leviticus/whole)(Exodus 20). And because God is holy and righteous, the Law, decrees, and regulations mediated through Moses were a reflection of His righteousness. I agree Doc, "symbolize" was not a good use of the alphabet! To answer the last of the questions concerning 'salvation'; According to Revelations 21:1-4, the old order of things have passed away with the passing away of the present heaven and earth and Jesus also confirms this in Mat 5:18. I do appreciate the members of this forum being biblically savy!! Your faithful brother in Christ, Cantool |
