Bible Note: Cantool... You state "Under the 'Old Covenant' or the 'dispensation of Law', God gave Israel a pattern to follow to symbolize righteousness in order to show that His people were set apart from the rest of the world, that they were His people. Christ came to set God's (His) people free from the Law, which God knew was imperfect. He had to do this in order to formulate His 'ultimate' plan of salvation..." On forum we try to be pretty precise about doctrinal statements. We try to state things with as much scriptural backing as we can provide. Therefore, based on your statement above, would you please provide references (book, chapter, and verse) for the following: 1. How is the Law a "pattern?" 2. How does following the Law "symbolize righteousness?" 3. Where is it said that "Christ came to set God's people free from the Law?" 4. Where is it said of anyone that they are "free from the Law?" 5. At the "incarceration of Satan" does the plan of salvation cease in some way? I think that'll do for starters. I'd include more questions, but, after all, its Christmas Eve. :-) In Him, Doc |
