Subject:  Is baptism for salvation? (Mark 16:16)

Bible Note:  Emmaus - "Previous champions of both sides have worn out many a hammer on the anvil of this verse." ..... Your colorful language causes me to sin the sin of envy :-) .... But how true your statement! And it could be expanded to embrace many other verses on whose anvils many other hammers have met their fate. .... Time was when I would while away a little spare time thumbing through the archives of this forum reading bits and pieces here and there. No longer do I do this. It is too frustrating and, yes, too depressing, to see that what purports to be a web site for studying the Bible is to a large degree sound and fury, signifying nothing. Petty debates, endless bickering over trifles, sawing sawdust over and over about some denominational difference, solving nothing, guiding few searchers for truth to it but quite possibly turning them away from their quest, convinced that there is no peace and harmony in Christendom. --Hank
