Subject: Are all Christians going to heaven? |
Bible Note: Appleseed and Nolan, Let me interject. -Mat. 7:21 has an important word, "say." Just becuase people say He is Lord and claim to of done things does not make them a Christian. --There are people, who on their own, think they are Christians - because they do somethings (works). I see verses 13-14 fit here. --There are cults that teach their followers that they are Christians. The followers are duped into believing another gospel. I see verses 15-20 fit here. ...neither group is getting in, based on verses 21-27. Nolan is right about the passage in 1 Thessalonians. But, let me add some thoughts. -Each chapter ends with something about His return. 4:13-5:11 is a whole section on this. -In the passage you quoted, Paul writes that they know about the love principle (vv 9-10). They also knew He ws coming like a thief in the night (5:1-2). ... to live a life of respect, including work (vv 11-12). He repeats this thought (2Th 3:10-12) ... then he closes the chapter about something they were worrying |
