Hi, my mind was pondering about this. I feel ackward asking about this, but I must know. If there ever was an offender in your life and he was offending you. What are you saposed to do? Let me be more specific, I know love is never forceful, it's always kind and patient. How does all that fit with the offender? Lets say if someone was killing you, are you just saposed to let it happen? Or if someone tried to hurt you, would you just let it be and hope? Like the book of "JOB". What he said to God "Even though ye sleigh me, I will wait with hope?" So did I pretty much give myself the answer or is there more to it? Thank You, Jason |
Bible Answer: Hello Jason, Here is the basic answer to your question of what to do with one who offends you. Matt 18:15-17 (ESV) [15] If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. [16] But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. [17] If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. You made the question more complex when you asked about bodily harm. Governments are established by God to punish these people. There is no wrong in defending yourself and allowing the authorities to exact justice. Steve |
