Subject: Are we looking for a way or the Way? |
Bible Note: Hi lionheart, You wrote, "I don't know if I would look at knowing the Father as a way as much as I would look at it as the way." I love language, but it is often hard to determine the emphases and meaning on the typed paper. I think you are differentiating between "a way" and "the way". O.K. I see that as your point of focus. Now look at the sentence looking at differentiating between the "Father as a way" and "it as the way". Is "it" a way"? Is "it" enough for us? Is the father or even the Father enough for us? You have mentioned an excellent verse for working out this question. I do not see God the Father as an "it". This is my translation/interpretation for that verse. Philippians 2:12, "for God is the *One who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure." We are children of (God) as we walk with (Him). 1 John 3:1, "See how great a love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of (God); and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him." 1 John 2:6, "the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as (He) walked." The parentheses are mine for comparisons. From the heart, Ray |
