Subject: is forgive and forget a reality? |
Bible Note: Hi! I hope I am understanding your question, if not let me know. There are two parts to this answer. First if you look in Mark 11:25,26, it basically says "And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your sins" (NIV Bible) So that basically means that we are to forgive like God forgives. Now keep this in mind and read Micah 7:19. It says, "Micah 7:19: “He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.” (NIV Bible). God hurls our iniquities into a sea meaning they are now forgotten. If we are required to forgive like Christ then we should do the same, we should also forget.I hope that helped. Thanks! |
