Bible Question: Where in the bible does it state that baptism is by emersion only? |
Bible Answer: Hi Pogolue and welcome to the forum. This is a confusing issue with many who try to support misconstrued doctrine in their denominational ties. Try and visualize the following. Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Col. 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. I believe this issue is very easy to resolve if one will look at it realistically. Those that hold to sprinkling as the meaning of the previous verses should only bury their physically deceased members with a hand full of dirt shortly after they die! That sounds rather repulsive doesn’t it? CDBJ |
