Subject: What does water baptism do? |
Bible Note: My point about reading your bible is not to say that you don't read it, I was making a point about what the bible says about baptism and it's purpose. You mentioned "I believe that the Bible plainly teaches that you don't necessarily have to undergo water baptism in order to be saved". Where is that in the bible? You don't necessarily have to undergo water baptism in order to be saved! Did Jesus ever teach that? Did Peter ever teach that? I read my bible every day too, and I never seem nor heard anything like your statement "you don't necessarily have to undergo water baptism in order to be saved. Now I heard people say that about the bible, but the passages they are using, they read all around it. For example Acts 16 the Philipian jailer, most people stop at vs.31 and never read pass that, saying that's all one has to do. But if you keep reading the story you would find the "rest of the story" where they spake unto him and his household the word of the Lord, vs.32 and he and all his house was baptized the same hour of the night. vs.33 Now show me one post where someone told the whole story about the jailer! |
