AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 27:46 About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud [agonized] voice, "ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?" that is, "MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?" [Ps 22:1] |
Bible Question: Then are you both saying that Christ was not separated from His Father? If He was separated from His Father, what does that entail? How did the separation take place? What was the link, is They were separated, that was broken? If God did forsake Him temporarily, what does this mean? What does it mean that God forsook Him if He didn't leave, vacate Christ? I've looked up the word 'forsaken' in my Vines, and it says that it is the strongest form of 'to leave, to abandon.' Any thoughts? |
Bible Answer: This might help..Do a word study with a complete concordance on the phrase "hide my face". This will give you several examples of when God will "hide his face" from his children. Also, Hab.1:13, "Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity;..." At that moment, He was "our iniquity" and God could not look upon it! After Christ cried out, what happened? God took Him from his suffering! Message? He will take you from your suffering! Cry out to Him! God bless... |
