AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 25:40 "The King will answer and say to them, 'I assure you and most solemnly say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it for Me.' [Prov 19:17] |
Subject: Who are "the least of these?" |
Bible Note: Speaking specifically of the word “Christian”, it didn’t even come on scene until found in the book of Acts. Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. Notice though that it was the “Jewish disciples” that were called Christians first. All true Jews that fall under the promise given to Abraham are within the realm of being Messianic Jews or they couldn’t even inherit the promise. Here is a good example of some that believed in the Messiah but since they didn’t believe that Jesus was God’s appointed one or the Messiah they now don’t receive the benefit from what they formally believed. John 15:22-24 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. (Because Jesus is the Messiah and they didn’t believe in Him!) 23He that hateth me hateth my Father also. 24If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, (proving that He is in fact the true Messiah) they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.
