Bible Question: Please explain this verse about people of this generation still being alive when Jesus comes back again. |
Bible Answer: There are many interpretations of this passage. Some say Jesus is talking of the generation that will be alive when He returns. Some say Jesus is talking of the generation alive at the time that will see the temple destroyed. Others say Jesus is talking of the generation of the time that will see him crucified and resurrected in victory. Others says Jesus is talking that from that moment on Christians will be persecuted, abused and killed for his name. What it could not be saying is that there would be some from the generation of that time that would be alive when Jesus came back. Since that is 2000 years ago all have died. |
