Subject: Two aspects of the will of God |
Bible Note: Greetings John! I pray that you and your family had a merry Christmas! You asked: "How do you reconcile these two, seemingly contradictory, facts?" I don't see them as contradictory. Acts 2:23 presents the answer and demonstrates that there is no contradiction. It says, "This man was handed over to you by God?s set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross." God's eternal plan was to hand Jesus over to these evil men, but the evil men put Him to death. All of this was based upon both God's plan and foreknowledge. A contradiction is 'A' and 'not A' at the same time. But, Acts 2:23 presents this scenrio as 'A' and 'B', so it's not a contradiction. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
