Bible Question: We have been having a small discussion about Matthew 22:14. It states "Many are called but few are chosen" - Our discussion is around the "many" - Does God only call Many? Who does He leave out? Why is it not "All are called and few chosen? Does anyone have the original text on this and can shed some enlightenment? |
Bible Answer: Ainamoja Hank hit it right on the head. We fuss and fume over things that seem to confuse and ignore the basic truths. Look at an easy to understand passage and let it form your doctrine. Notice the "who ever" in John 3:16 it doesn't wangle over "all, many, some or few" is simply says ‘who ever believes’. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. To be saved you must believe and if you believe you will be saved. don't let the teaching of man confuse this and make it bewildering. EdB |
