Bible Question: Is this a miracle in Matthew 21:19 and what is the significance to us? |
Bible Answer: Hi Ken John - great observation! Could a tree wither "at once" or does the Creator of that tree have dominion over its life? (fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Mt 10:28) If by "miracle" you mean supernatural or Divine intervention, then wouldn't this be considered in that category? To me, the observation that Jesus saw a "lone tree" is significant. I also believe that the fig tree, when it had leaves, was supposed to have fruit, so this too would be important - we can't talk the talk without the walk, so to speak. We are told plainly that in the last days there will come wolves among the sheep, deceivers . . .those who "appear" to be Christians . . perhaps this relates? By their fruit, you will know them.(Mt 7:16,20) I have some other "speculations" but perhaps they are better left as just that for now. Thanks for giving me something to "chew on!" Blessings, t He again fixes a certain day, "Today," saying through David after so long a time just as has been said before, "TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS." Heb 4:7 |
