Bible Question: Matthew 19:29-30 How does this verse 29 compare with salvation ? What does verse 30 really mean for a Christian ? |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Matt 19:16-20:16; Mark 9:30-37, 10:17-31; Luke 13:22-30 ... The whole context I see is Matthew 19:16-20:16. The parallel passages is Mark 10:17-31. We see first-last in Mark 9:35 and Luke 13:30. While the latter may appear to be about salvation. it is the position at the table. We need to be willing to be the servant in the kingdom and not clamor for the top poisitions. We also need to be willing to give up - leave all our earthly things. |
