Bible Question:
My father passed in 1994 of december and I do know that he was not saved and lived a very difficult life, dealing with drugs and all other habits that was not good, but in that year the Lord begin to deal with me all though my father passed, his death, I do know was a sign for my life. I would like to know if he is in hell or heaven? I went with the thoughts of believing he went to hell because of the life he lived but he never recieved the lord, and also at times when the lord leads me into inercessery prayer I prayer for him and I do not understand, even though I know we dont understand everything. This has been in my mind, but I brush it off. If possible any scriptures would help I am very open to the Will of God and would except this truly in Gods Will purpose. God Bless and thank you love brother Tyrone. |
Bible Answer: Hi Tyrone, The answer to your question isn’t found in the life that your father lived but the life that Christ Jesus lived. Everlasting life isn’t determined after we take our last breath, in the case of one who believes in the work of God in Christ. To say for sure that a person only knows for sure that they have everlasting life, when the person dies physical death, is a satanic lie. The Bible goes into great depths to prove just the opposite and that is what’s known as the gospel or GOOD NEWS. John 3:17-18 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. The word believe doesn’t mean just to give mental assent to a known fact. The word, believe, in the original language of the Koine Greek means to have completely, undivided trust, in the person of Jesus as God’s Son and the one who paid the awesome price that God demanded for our redemption. 1 John 5:10-13 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. [11] And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. [12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. [13] These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. Your dad’s salvation didn’t dependent on how he might, or might not, have lived his last few years while in this life, but if he in fact put all of his hopes in what Jesus did for him on the cross. “God the Father” loved your dad more then you could ever imagine and “He is the only one” that could have revealed this truth about Jesus to your father, even during the last few moments of his earthly life. Matthew 16:13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? Matthew 16:16-17 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. [17] And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. Thou art the Christ, or the Messiah, the Messiah was the one that God would send into the world to pay the price for sin and save all those that would trust in Him. Look what Jesus told Simon; flesh and blood, or a person, didn’t reveal this truth to you, ------- “but my Father” which is in heaven. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Believe that God loved your dad, and He did all He could for your dad for his understand the truth about Jesus. Matthew 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. Have a great day, CDBJ |
