Bible Question:
My father passed in 1994 of december and I do know that he was not saved and lived a very difficult life, dealing with drugs and all other habits that was not good, but in that year the Lord begin to deal with me all though my father passed, his death, I do know was a sign for my life. I would like to know if he is in hell or heaven? I went with the thoughts of believing he went to hell because of the life he lived but he never recieved the lord, and also at times when the lord leads me into inercessery prayer I prayer for him and I do not understand, even though I know we dont understand everything. This has been in my mind, but I brush it off. If possible any scriptures would help I am very open to the Will of God and would except this truly in Gods Will purpose. God Bless and thank you love brother Tyrone. |
Bible Answer: Ultimately, we do not know if anyone is in hell or heaven. God is the only judge of this and the only One who knows with any certainty. Wherever people end up however, it is not Biblically sound to pray for those who have died. For good or bad, the eternal destiny of every person is sealed at the moment of death. Paul wrote that it is appointed unto man once to die and thereafter the judgement. The only thing we can do is witness to people while they are alive and for ourselves, trust in the only Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ for our salvation. If those who have died could speak to us (and they can not) they would tell us to avoid hell at any cost, just as Jesus did while He lived on earth. |
