Bible Question: When Jesus send his disciples to go and heal the sick and drive out demons, He told them not to go to the pagans, why is that? But Paul did go to the pagan nations. |
Bible Answer: Christ first commisioned them to spread the gospel to the Jews only, when the Jews rejected Him, He then told them to go to all the nations. Matt 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, Matt 28:20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." And also there is a parable of Jesus's that better explans this Matt 21:33 "Listen to another parable. There was a landowner who PLANTED A VINEYARD AND PUT A WALL AROUND IT AND DUG A WINE PRESS IN IT, AND BUILT A TOWER, and rented it out to vine-growers and went on a journey. Matt 21:34 "When the harvest time approached, he sent his slaves to the vine-growers to receive his produce. Matt 21:35 "The vine-growers took his slaves and beat one, and killed another, and stoned a third. Matt 21:36 "Again he sent another group of slaves larger than the first; and they did the same thing to them. Matt 21:37 "But afterward he sent his son to them, saying, 'They will respect my son.' Matt 21:38 "But when the vine-growers saw the son, they said among themselves, 'This is the heir; come, let us kill him and seize his inheritance.' Matt 21:39 "They took him, and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. Matt 21:40 "Therefore when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vine-growers?" Matt 21:41 They *said to Him, "He will bring those wretches to a wretched end, and will rent out the vineyard to other vine-growers who will pay him the proceeds at the proper seasons." Matt 21:42 Jesus *said to them, "Did you never read in the Scriptures, 'THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED, THIS BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER stone; THIS CAME ABOUT FROM THE LORD, AND IT IS MARVELOUS IN OUR EYES'? Matt 21:43 "Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people, producing the fruit of it. Matt 21:44 "And he who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; but on whomever it falls, it will scatter him like dust." Matt 21:45 When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard His parables, they understood that He was speaking about them. Matt 21:46 When they sought to seize Him, they feared the people, because they considered Him to be a prophet. Ps 118:22 The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief corner stone. I hope this answeres your question. Here is some more verse that is relevant and quite inspirational, especially in its entire content. Eph 2:11 Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called "Uncircumcision" by the so-called "Circumcision," which is performed in the flesh by human hands-- Eph 2:12 remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. Eph 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Eph 2:14 For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, Eph 2:15 by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace, Eph 2:16 and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity. Eph 2:17 AND HE CAME AND PREACHED PEACE TO YOU WHO WERE FAR AWAY, AND PEACE TO THOSE WHO WERE NEAR; Eph 2:18 for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. Eph 2:19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household, Eph 2:20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, Eph 2:21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, Eph 2:22 in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit. |
