Subject: Can the soul actually be destroyed? |
Bible Note: Mat 10:39 He that finds his life shall lose it, and he who has lost his life for my sake shall find it. Matthew 10:39 makes no such statement. READ IT AGAIN DEAR SOUL. As to Matthew 16:25 it is simply a reiteration of 10 :29 Mat 16:25 For whosoever shall desire to save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake shall find it. Likewise, this has nothing to do with the "soul being distroyed." Both these verses are referencing the fact that if one cares more for his life than he does serving Jesus, he will loose that life. And that if one has lost his life for Jesus, he shall find it. According to scripture, the soul is eternal. It will either spend eternity in Glory, or in "eternal damnation" which is the second death. When it comes to "thinking" this or that concerning the Living Word, one would be well advised to consider what scripture states. Particularily 2 Timothy 2:15-16 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. GB |
