Bible Note: Hi Val, See Joshua 2, wherein Rahab conceals the two spies and negotiates with them the safety of her parents, brothers and sisters. Therefore, Rahab appears to be somewhat mature in her actions. For the purpose of the timeline I put her age at only 20 because it was more favorable to a lower age to see if she could have been the mother of Boaz. Salmon was born in the wilderness and therefore under the age of 40. I used age 20 for him also for the purpose of the timeline to match Rahab. The range in their age at the time of the battle of Jericho would be 20-39 years. The timeline simply puts Rahab the harlot has being too old to be the mother of Boaz. Since Salmon would have been about 96 years old, Rahab the harlot would be about the same age. Please do the math yourself; perhaps I made an error somewhere. You don’t have to rely on experts, this is fairly objective. This is not me versus the experts and I am not seeking to make any other particular point. Just that Rahab the harlot would have been too old to be the mother of Boaz. Please show me where and how I am wrong in the timeline. I have read that this tread is too long and fruitless. Perhaps so, the reason is no one has answered the call of the question. I hope this has answered the call of your question. Jim |
