AMPLIFIED 2015 | Malachi 3:10 "Bring all the tithes (the tenth) into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this," says the LORD of hosts, "if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you [so great] a blessing until there is no more room to receive it. Subject: Does not tithing disqualify leadership? |
Bible Note: You wrote to ask... "So here is the real issue at hand - should we be disqualified from leadership because we have given more to the Lord at ABC Ministry and less to the Lord at the local church?" ...and I would like to offer my view. I do not tithe. I give money (Time and Talent also) to bring people closer to our Lord; believers and non-believers alike. I know that when I expend my resources I am blessed beyond my understanding. It feels real good! And I learn so much about my own walk with our Lord that I wonder. Do I do this for others or for myself? I am a cheerful giver. And at the same time I have become a leader in my own right, by His image. If it were insisted that I pay the membership fee of a "local" church, I would most certainly be unable to do what I do with my remaining offering. Yet everyone agrees that I provide a good study of the first 11 chapters of the Bible from a scientific point of view. It is evangelistic but also serves to strenghten belief in the Bible as it is written. So what to do? :-) Am I called to church leadership? Hardly. Am I called to be a leader in His church. Cheerfully!! God Bless....Jensen |
