Bible Note: Basic to understanding the bible is to study it dispensationally. While Jesus lived on the earth,he was in the dispensation of LAW, Gal 4:4. He had to keep and teach ALL of the LAW. He obeyed the ordinance of tithing, Luke11:42, what the prophets taught, kept the Feasts, wore tassels, etc. Christ's death brought the LAW to an end Rm 10:4...blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us...nailing it to His cross Col 2:14. Before the dispensation of LAW, Abraham, during the dispensation of PROMISE gave a tithe of the spoils of the war to Melchizedek without the command of God. Abraham did not bring his tithe to the "storehouse", it is not recorded that he ever tithed again, and he was not promised he'd be blessed for tithing. Abraham also offered animals as burnt offerings...we are not required to do that during this dispensation of GRACE. We are forbidden to mix GRACE with LAW. Col 2:16, Gal 6:1. Just study the bible dispensationally (rightly divide the Word of truth); remember we are not Jews; if you keep one LAW, you have to keep them all to be righteous; read all of Galatians; don't be bewitched by "money grubbing preachers; give 10,20,40,50,100 percent of your gross if you want to...just be sure it is given cheerfully, not grudgingly, or of necessity as Paul, our pattern, taught the Corinthians. |
