NASB | Malachi 2:17 ¶ You have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet you say, "How have we wearied Him?" In that you say, "Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and He delights in them," or, "Where is the God of justice?" |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Malachi 2:17 ¶ You have wearied the LORD with your words. But you say, "In what way have we wearied Him?" In that you say, "Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and He delights in them," or [by asking], "Where is the God of justice?" |
Bible Question: How have we "wearied the Lord" with our words?" |
Bible Answer: Hello, Mommapbs. Talk was obviously cheap on the Jerusalem Stock Exchange [JSE] in Malachi's time, and it has failed to rally on the New York Stock Exchange [NYSE] in our time :-) The religious cynicism and moral corruption, the sarcastic taunts against God, of which Malachi spoke are no less around still. I think it not entirely unfair to say that we tend to weary the Lord with OUR words as against listening more closely to HIS words. Hmmm...but surely not on THIS forum, eh? :-) --Hank |
