Bible Question: Thanks Johnny. Do they have the same bible or do they have less or more books or even edited scriptures. |
Bible Answer: They have thier own translations, here in the Philippines they have bible that really for catholics. They usually use the Good news bible. They consider the books written by thier saints i.e. saint thomas aquinas and many more. And they more consider the traditions instead of teaching of the Bible. Most of the catholics are not bible oriented, here in the philippines because of the 330 years of invasion of spain the bible called here"libreta de secreto" the only authority to read and to explain it, is those priest and they so called studied in the "college of apostle" which is again against to the statement of the bible. Re 1:3 ΒΆ Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. If you have some discussion to them, if you critic some doctrine that not in the bible, they depend it by thier traditions and not what the bible written. here in the Philippines, before the spanish came, the native of BULACAN (one of our town) had this practice to dance in thier "anitos" gods of fertility in order to have children if you have not. The catholics simply adopted that teaching, now in the BULACAN the people thier continue to pray for fertility now not in in thier "gods" but to sant clair. I asked this to the priest if it is ok, because the practice is the same "pagan" and he said at least now they know how to direct thier prayer to saint clair, and not to ANITOS. Is this Bible doctrine? NO. God bless, Johnny |
