Bible Note: Hi, Nick... You wrote, "I fail to see anywhere where Jesus pointed out someone's sin to them. The only people He corrected and rebuked (that I can find) are the religious leaders of His time and His disciples." (sic) There was the woman at the well (John 4:18, 22), the paralytic (John 5:14), the woman caught in adultery (John 8:11), the young civil magistrate (Matthew 19:21), Chorazon, Bethsaida, (Luke 10:13), Capernaum (Luke 10:15), Herod Antipas (Luke 13:32), Pilate (John 19:11), and the whole generation (Luke 11:29). The balm of the gospel cannot be applied to one on whom the law has not first wrought conviction of sin (Luke 5:31-32; 1 John 1:10). But on the other hand, if this man is saved with all the rest of humanity per your doctrine, nothing is to be gained or lost by "Bible thumping" or molly coddling. For that matter, your criticism of Brother Steve is also a non sequitur. In Him, Doc |
